8 Unbelievable Media Lies Is Telling About..
While the world tries to figure out the truth surrounding the downing of Malaysia Flight MH17, one thing is for certain: Russia is vigorously trying to deny any involvement in shooting down the plane and they’re doing so through their tightly controlled network of Kremlin-funded media outlets.
Despite U.S. intelligence pointing to the Russian-sponsored terrorists in Eastern Ukraine whose leaders are Russian citizens, by golly it looks like they’re going to deny, deny, deny until the very end. Julie Davis of The Examiner took notice and put the following images together.
1) Ukrainian Military Was Aiming At Putin’s Plane
RT, repeat offenders in this campaign of misinformation, presented perhaps the most ridiculous of theories for the downing of the passenger jet.
According to an unnamed source, the missiles that brought down Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 likely came from Ukrainian soldiers under the mistaken impression that it was Vladimir Putin’s personal jet. Their source told them, “the contours of the aircraft have generally similar linear dimensions and, at a sufficient distance, the jet appears to have almost identical coloring.”
2) We Didn’t Do It, They Did
After it was revealed that the terrorists had shot down a passenger jet and not an AN-26 as they initially boasted about, their leader Igor Girkin, Russian citizen and FSB officer through March 2013, tried to refute his own earlier claims with a fabricated, broken Ukrainian message that Girkin claims was broadcast by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
It seems to be written by someone who doesn’t speak Ukrainian (Girkin is a Russian national). The message included numerous grammar mistakes and misspellings, with President Poroshenko allegedly admitting the Ukrainian military’s involvement in shooting down “the terrorist plane.” Tough to believe that one, as the Ukrainian military has not yet fired a missile in this conflict and the rebel forces don’t have planes.
3) We Don’t Have The Right Equipment For That
Girkin’s been working hard to hide his guilt in this whole situation.
On July 17th, Girkin claimed that the terrorists did not have the sophisticated equipment capable of reaching an aircraft at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters. Just one day earlier, though, Girkin bragged on social media about successfully shooting down a Ukrainian military plane at an altitude of 6,000 meters.
4) Seriously, We Don’t Even Have That Equipment
Mainstream Russian media posted that the terrorists had gotten the Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile system (the system allegedly used to down the passenger jet).
After it was discovered that this system was used to shoot down the airliner, outlets started reporting that none of the “rebels” in Eastern Ukraine had the “complex” Buk missile system.
5) OK, We Have The Equipment, But It’s Broken
These rebel forces publicly boasted about a new Buk missile system, then went back and denied having one after the passenger jet was shot down. NOW they’ve admitted to having the Buk system but say it is broken.
6) “Carlos” Told Us
RT found someone named “Carlos” to corroborate the idea that the Ukrainian military was responsible for the downing of the passenger jet. “Carlos,” a Spaniard supposedly working at Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport, apparently tweeted that Ukrainian military jets were following the passenger plane and shot it down. Several outlets ran this story, notably Russia 24, the Defense Ministry’s Zvezda channel, Rossiiskaya Gazeta, RT, and Komsomolskaya Pravda. None of them seemed to question the reliability of “Carlos” and they used the story to push their narrative.
A little digging and you’ll find that only Ukrainian citizens are eligible to work at Boryspil. RT acknowledged on July 17th that this source, the unidentified “Carlos,” ran a fake Twitter account and it had been deleted. Nonetheless, RT again cited “Carlos” as their primary source in another article published two days LATER…
7) See, We Have A Memorial!
Political analyst for RT, Mark Sleboda, tweeted a photo he said was a memorial in Moscow dedicated to the victims of MH17. It was actually in Kyiv.
No such memorial exists in Moscow, and it wasn’t very hard to spot the lie.
8) It’s All A Conspiracy…
Terrorist leader Girkin has more to add to our list, as he recently made the bizarre assertion that the passengers on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 were dead prior to the plane being shot down…
He didn’t totally pull this one out of thin air, as it’s apparently the plot of an episode of popular British TV show, “Sherlock.”
